Made for More
What do you believe?
I am participating in a book study with a few women from my church as we work to chart new paths with our health. This week's study chapters have been the on-time reassuring messages of the importance of partnering with someone (not just for the journey but for accountability), knowing your worth in Christ, and growing closer to him. As a woman of faith, this has been grounding especially as I work to regain my life and health back. However, a part of the book that is resonating with me is on being "made for more."
This is touching me to my core and where I want to spend more time studying and challenging what I believe about my purpose. I need to remember that I am made for more. That my graves' disease journey is not limiting me or holding me back no matter how it may feel at times. Yes, it is challenging, hard, and sometimes absolutely disruptive but it is not my end and does not define how things will turn out. Sometimes when you are facing one of life's lessons, it is hard to see the positive ending and the bright future that lies ahead. It is striking how quickly we can forget where we have come from - the ease of working out, eating a balanced diet, enjoying friends and family because we have the energy to "hang" all night long. Then things change and what we know is altered and we begin living this "new" life. Constantly making adjustments and along the way unintentionally limiting ourselves.
When we start to limit ourselves it impacts how we believe and what we believe about the situation and how it will all come together to make sense. However, when we pray and then take a seat in order to learn from Christ how to navigate our lives, we begin to learn and see that we are made for more. That this situation is not what defines us, but is our testimony. That this is not the end all, but a part of our story and journey that we can use to empower and support others. That although we may face some limitations - they will not last always.
Know that you are made for more! You have so much to give to the world and that no matter what you face when you make it through the test you will be so much stronger and wiser! You will be a great friend and supporter to those in need of your story. I dare you to believe these words and to study them for yourself. I know I will!
