Stay the Course

A Sense of Accomplishment

Today marks the completion of my first 30 days of successfully taking on the thyroid detox plan. It feels surreal as I started this journey on hope of feeling better. I have taken on the 90-Day Thyroid Rehab that was presented in the Medical Medium: Thyroid Health book by Anthony William (that I cannot stop referencing *smile*). To understand my excitement, I need to provide the history of where I started.

I was in a bad place. A panicky, fearful, confused, and wavering state. In November 2017 I went to the doctor complaining of the following symptoms:  severe inflammation, slow healing, hair loss, severe eczema, weight loss, differing sleep patterns (includes insomnia), joint and muscle aches, temperature fluctuations, and severe headaches/migraines. I felt absolutely terrible and was over not having an answer. I went to the doctor and my TSH was .23 which was a slap in the face - but helped to explain a lot. I couldn't help but cry and pray and ask God to show me another path to healing other than conventional medicine. That's where the book came in.

As I said before, I immediately went gluten free and felt that this couldn't be the full answer so I also shifted my diet to include more vegetables and fruits (I still eat meat and am not vegan). I started this in January of 2018 and started my first 30 day thyroid detox in February 2018. I won't give it all away because buying the book is worth it and so much love and truth is written on these pages that it is not my right to give the information away. However, I started with the "Liver, Lymphatic, and Gut Release Month" and it has already changed my life. Out of the symptoms above: the inflammation is subsiding, I am no longer losing hair (but due to the area of loss it will take some time to grow back), my eczema is clear and has not returned, my weight is stabilizing, sleep is improving, joints and muscles feel so much better (have a little pain here and there), temperature fluctuations are improving, and the biggest win of them all my headaches/migraines have essentially disappeared (I only had one which is a miracle considering they came daily and stayed weekly). God is good!

I can't believe these small changes have had such a big impact on me overall! The shift has not been a major diet move, but commitment and dedication are necessary to keep the course and this is what excites me. That I was able to stay the course. I was challenged on a daily basis but knew I could not give up if I wanted to feel and get better. Although I still deal with fatigue and exhaustion, I have way more energy than I had before which is saying a lot.

What do I take away from this? One, is the belief that what God has naturally provided to us has just what we need to help cure us from disease and change the trajectory of illness. Second, seeing and feeling the results increase my faith that I will heal from this. Lastly, I am one who has to feel a sense of accomplishment. I get really bored when I am not challenged and do not have an end goal in mind. Therefore, making it through my first 30 days not only excites me for accomplishing this new task but also pushes me forward and reaffirms that I can make it through  to the 60 day mark.

This has propelled my faith and I want it to do the same for you. Even if you cannot jump in as quickly and heavy as I did, making one small change can still make a huge impact on your life. The key is to start.

Better Choices. A Healthier You. Improved Life.

Be blessed!
